Their Glory Shall Not Be Forgotten

Ahh…the South. This is the monument in the center of the historic section of Columbus, right across the street from the house where the guy who invented Coke lived. The monument says, and I quote:

“Erected by the Ladies of the Memorial Association, May 1879, to honor the Confederate soldiers who died to repel the unconstitutional invasion to protect the right reserved to the people, and to perpetuate forever the sovereignty of the states.”

I had to take a picture. Posted by Picasa

Worst Team Ever!

Here you can see Nick and myself trying out the "Command Station" of a tank at the National Infantry Museum in Fort Bennett. We are, as usual, fighting about how to make it work. The best part, and you can't see this, is Eric outside dancing around and saying, "Is it my turn? Come on guys, let me in." Sarah is taking the picture, and is about .3 seconds away from asking if we can leave.... Posted by Picasa

Our Hotel Room

This is our awesome hotel room in Columbus. We stayed at a Marriott, but the building was actually a converted mill. The interior was gorgeous and the bed was so comfy! The only drawback was that the walls were paper thin. We could hear the people next door reading the paper. Freaky... Posted by Picasa

Our Thanksgiving in Georgia...

We went to Columbus, Georgia for Thanksgiving this year to check out Nick's place before he moves to Arizona. He has a great loft apartment in a converted YMCA building in downtown Columbus.

Here we are sitting down to enjoy our feast. Notice the cranberry sauce shaped like a can. I love it when we get it out of the can in one piece! Hilarious! Posted by Picasa

Mia and Asia!

This is from our recent visit to Dan's apartment, when we went to play Gears of War. I mean...we went to visit Dan and Vanessa! Yeah, that's it.

Dan isn't very fond of his place anymore, in fact he is moving to Oak Creek soon. But the great thing about Dan's current apartment is the high ceiling. Dan has a projector and we get to play (and watch) Gears of War projected onto a huge wall. Sweet. Posted by Picasa

Eric - The Evil Taskmaster

Check out this look. "Get back to work!"

I know these pictures are a little old, but I have to post them. This is from the weekend that we put together Sarah's invitations. I thought we would have to tie Eric to a chair to get him to help, but HE ended up being the one who didn't want to stop. Sarah and I were begging to stop, but he kept saying, "Just 10 more. Just do 10 more and then we can go to bed."

Hmmm...maybe it was the rubber cement fumes.... Posted by Picasa

Extreme Makeover - Wisconsin Edition

I can't believe I didn't post about this until now, but I must have forgotten. One of April's recent posts jogged my memory.

Ty and the rest of the sappy crew from Extreme Makeover just finished fixing up a house in Dundee, WI. It was for the Koepke family, who recently lost their father to cancer. Wauwatosa-based Monarch Homes was the builder and Kohler provided most of the interior furnishings. I am looking forward to seeing the episode, but I can't find the day it is going to be on TV! I originally heard Nov. 12th, but now I am not sure. Anyone?

Where Have All The Good Posts Gone?

So, we have been gone from the blogosphere for a few weeks. Since it is national blogging month or some crap like that, I thought I would kick it back into gear. And I wanted to let everyone know that I HAVE A NEW JOB! Huzzah!! It is actually a part-time paralegal job, which is even more exciting. Now I am going to have time for all the little piddly crap that is currently making our house look like a pigsty. For example the laundry, the dishes and the many, many dustballs of cat fluff that have taken up residence under our television. And, more importantly, I am going to be able to WRITE for one WHOLE day a week, which is by far and away the most important aspect of going part-time. Yes! So, my last day of my current job is on 11/10, after that expect regular posts on here and on Vintage Bug, which has been horribly neglected.
